Capable. Dependable. Adaptable. Be ABLE.
Capability is earned. Start earning it.
A training standard for Canadians who intend to be the most capable person in their house. Every member runs the same Standard, every month. Built by a former infantry officer who ran technical rescue operations.
Strength you can use. A household that holds for 72 hours. A head that stays cool when the power's out at minus 25°C (minus 13°F). And a roll of ABLE houses beside yours.
Founding rate: $19 CAD/month. Closes December 31, 2026.
Six disciplines. One standard.
Strength you can use.
Carry, lift, haul, shovel, climb. Not for the mirror.
Household readiness.
Heat, water, food, light, and a plan, built to 72 hours.
Self-reliance.
Spend less. Waste less. Fix it yourself.
Steady under load.
Think clearly when it goes sideways. Then go to work.
Skills and study.
Practical skills, real reps, and the founder's reading list.
Habits that hold.
Routines that still run on your worst week.
Audit. Train. Hold the standard.

Step 1: Run the Household Audit. Free.
One honest look at your supplies, money, health and plans. You walk away with your top three gaps.

Step 2: Complete the 30-Day Starter Track.
Twenty minutes a day, every day, for four weeks:
- Week 1: Establish the Baseline
- Week 2: Handle the First Hour
- Week 3: Stretch to 72 Hours
- Week 4: Make the Standard Stick

Step 3: Hold the Monthly Standard.
One operation a month, run by every member. First up: OP-STD 2612: Ready for Winter, December 2026.
This isn't for everyone.
Not for
- People who want a quick fix.
- People who quit when it's cold, dark or boring.
- People looking for politics, outrage or a costume.
For
- People who do the work when no one's watching.
- Beginners who commit. Start where you are, but start.
- People who intend to be the steady one in the house, and the one who checks on next door.

Who's setting the standard
Five years as an infantry officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Eight years in high-angle and confined-space rescue and rope access on wind farms. More than ten years running Civil Safety.
"I live in rural Nobel, Ontario. Help can be a long way off here. In a city it can be just as far when a whole grid goes down at once. Able Citizen is the standard I hold my own house to. Now it's yours."

Do I need experience or gear?
No. You need to commit. Everyone starts at the baseline, with what's already in your house. Advanced and specialist training is for members who qualify.
How much time does it take?
The audit takes under 30 minutes. Then it's 20 minutes a day, every day. Miss one? Don't double up. Do today's work.
What if it's not for me?
You get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment. You can cancel any time, but the founding rate does not come back.
